Caring for a much-used building

DECORATING

In Winter 2026 our decorations will have a much-needed makeover, maintaining the character of the building but refreshing the most-used spaces. It's been months in the planning, finding the right contractors and a time that will cause least disruption to our regular and occasional hirers, but the results will make it worthwhile.

NEW LIGHTING and ELECTRICS

In summer 2026 we commissioned new ambient lighting for the bar and skittle alley AND added more power sockets to the main hall.

We replaced the light switches in the entrance hall with movement sensors to save wasting electricity and better cope with big increases in the price of our supply.

KEEPING UP WITH REPAIRS AND IMPROVEMENTS

In the last two years we have updated the kitchens, made enduring improvements to the flat roof on the 70s skittle alley, made good winter gale damage, and improved access to and insulation in the loft. External fire doors have been replaced and signage added.
